Why is Assam Breakfast tea stronger than the English Breakfast tea and our other whole leaf teas?
The first step of producing our Assam Breakfast tea involves passing the hand-plucked tea leaves through a crushing machine for a process known as “crush, tear and curl.” The end result of the CTC process is a tea with a texture that is more granular than leafy. The granulated tea equals greater surface area of tea leaves in each teaspoon which equals stronger tea!
Each cup of this dark, robust Assam black tea is full of caffeine to get you going in the morning. We especially recommend it as a great coffee alternative, whether you take it black or with milk and sugar. It is one of our best teas for those tea connoisseurs who love a good French press brew. Assam black tea is known for being strong and rich. Our Assam Breakfast tea proudly lives up to this reputation.

very happy with purchase!!!
Not malty enough. Looks like kitty litter.
Very good tea! It is strong but has a threat flavor.
My sense of smell is deficient, but the taste is fine. I had a friend from Assam so I learned the taste on samples from an Assam estate. I use 2 g for 250 ml cup, it is nicely and moderately bitter, for tea with milk in English style, I would used 3 g or more.
Very fresh tasting. Great CTC tea. Don’t brew to long or the flavor will get bitter. True of pretty much any tea. Follow the directions and you’ll get a great cup of tea.
